Damn! Tire shine on VOLKs annodized lip!!!
Can someone please confirm if tire shine such as Mequire's will stain Volks annodized lip? I might have put a little too much tire shine on my tires and after driving around for a while I see some smears and specs of the tire shine on the outer lip. I quickly wipe them out with a damped cloth and the lip seems to be OK.
So is this something I need to be aware of in the future? I will no longer use tire shine on my tires if they indeed do damage to the lip.

From my understanding tire shine is either silicone or non silicone based and the wheel's lips are anodized a clear. If you know anything about paintballing then you would know that pb guns are anodized and there thrown around in the dirt and shot at with oil based paints and the gun color will not get ruined.
From my understanding anodized things are very strong except the lug nuts I keep hearing about that keeps fading. Besides that as long as you wipe it off it's all good and if it gets stained it can be removed.
Besides that why don't you use a applicator pad to put on the tire shine it's much easier and cleaner way of doing things and they cost 99 ¢ or less or a regular sponge( not the one's you wash dishes with but the bigger ones you wash cars with, the ones that don't become hard when there dry).
