But why the hell you welding your diff? Love my nismo 1.5 way!
You see the thing is when you have a nismo lsd or any other aftermarket lsd they tend to sometimes open when you are in a drift and not locking. the best thing for drifting is to have a constant locking diff so you have a good enough slid. With a welded diff once it's locked its locked. And cause it is cheaper..

Also most of the drifters at these events have welded diffs and they don't have problems with them for daily

prolly the easiest, cheapest, and quickest option for him to do 2 weeks before the event...
You are correct sir. But I wont be drifting at Lone Star Bash, just going to support my fellow drifters

actually, welded diff is just an easy way out, its wayy better than open or vsld, but its also wayy cheaper than a 1.5 or 2way clutch diff...but by no means better...

yes, the characteristics are the same while drifting, smashing on the throttle, but the constant locking of the welded diff can cause understeer if you initiate wrong as compared to the 1.5/2way, its 100% lock on full throttle only, but on partial/zero throttle, it's only 50 or 75% locked(think thats correct)...off throttle, you can use it to correct a messed up drift better then you would than having a welded diff.

i have a welded diff on my 240, 2 years, many miles, and drift miles, haven't even changed the cheap autozone brand diff fluid and still holding up fine... the only thing sucks is parallel parking with a welded diff, having tie rods make it a little better with the angle, but i couldn't imagine it on a z with stock tie rods...

K-Tran.. I learn something new everyday ^ ^

Steriod those rims need to be re-finished. Sanded down.. Filled in.. Re-Polished and all those rivets need to be replaced.

Yeah I just couldnt imagine dailying a car with a welded diff.....the noise would drive me insane. I dont mind the minimal noise my nismo makes when turning at slow speeds but dam.....the bishes already asks why my nice looking car makes so much noise haha

Loud single exhaust with no resonator
Nismo Diff
JWT Flywheel with nismo ball bearing
Coils Make a lil noise too

Haha atleast the exhaust drains most of it out

not sure on a z, but in a 240...i dont notice much of a noise/jerkyness difference from having a welded diff and riding in friends cars with 2way diffs...

on my s14, i kno having stance gr+ pro c/o's, 18" wheels w/ small tires, sounds wayy more harsh/noisey than having stance gr+ c/os, 18" wheels/small tires on my 350z...

idk, newer car has newer sound deadening technology, newer built chassis??

Ktran,

I tottally agree with your statment, just an easy way out...Oh and I'm not worried about the noise from the diff, all diffs make noises and like Ktran said Stance Gr+ make allot of noise, which I have sounds very harsh/noisey.

imo, after installing the stance gr+ on my z, they didnt sound/feel any more harsh than my oem strut/springs...actually, i think its less harsh than oem, but feels more reactive(better rebound?) and just lower....ony noise i hear now is hitting sh*t wit the exhaust and tire rubbing front fenders on dips...

i have the newest stance gr+ models...the sticker looks different on them than the older ones, not sure if anything were improved...

Would you mind taking a pic of the new sticker, I bought used, and i'd like to know whether they're the new or old model.

Thanks!

Just woke up from anxiety attack, had a crazyy nightmare i went to some social gathering, came out and some one had stolen my wheels. I asked some kids in the parking lot if they saw who did it and said it was some guys in a burgundy land cruiser and they were at some flea market with them. By time i got to them they guys had stolen the faces off the wheels and i just had the barrels left. Ive never woke n up so bothered in my life.

Damn someone stole your wheels? How could they possibly even fit a jack under there. Crazy. Did you have wheel locks?
