Default 275/40/19 Tires

Is this too big of a sidewall to fit the rear of a stock Z with no suspension work?

Thanks for the help guys!

It is 24.90mm taller than the OEM tire. Is there any sound reason why you want such a tall tire?

I didn't really want a taller tire...I just wanted a thicker sidewall to smooth out the ride. These thin sidewall tires are rattling the inside of my car to pieces...lol

Now that I have seen your post...I think I will go with 275/35/19s

Thanks guys!

LOL. When you move for 18 to 19 inch wheels, you generally drop side wall height 5 percent. That might get you an a less comfortable ride. An alternative solution might be a more comfortable tire.

the reason I thought of going with a thicker sidewall is because I have 245/35/20's now and want to get a 19" set of wheels. So I thought a thicker sidewall would be okay.

i had that size tire in the past, picked them up used from a guy on the
forum with 100 miles on them. they were definately a softer ride but
were so tall made the car look like a muscle car-rear end all jacked up
made my back hurt a little from always leaning forward.
they were good for hard launch at drags but killed speed downtrack 1000ft
mark. i since bought 275/35 and have been happy
