Default Has anyone been able to match this price?

I have been looking around for a set of wheels and have finally decided to go with the Piaa super rozza in hyper black compared to SFchallenge in mag blue. Anyway, I was quoted $3,050.00 for new 19" Piaa super rozza 9" front and 10" rear with 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 BF Goodrich T/A KDW tires. Also in the price was lugs, hub centric rings and shipping. Does anyone know of a place that could beat this price?
Thanks

lol i have sterns too. i always get complements on them. I love how they look. Mine are glossy black with polished lip 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back. really changed the appearance of the car.

But arent half the rims. If you paid 1500, thats highly over priced. They are $599 for a set of 19s on ebay. They arent bad looking rims though, im not trying to be the typical ******* that usually posts on here.

They don't even look close to the same. Look at the finish on your lips and then go look at a PIAA lip finish, and you'll realize how cheap looking your wheels look. This is from personal observations of the sterns and piass local members have had

I actually looked at the stern rims first but after seeing the piaa's in person I decided to go with piaa. Plus I love the size of the lip on the piaa's.

Picture's worth a thousand words

Super Rozza

Knock off Stern

The 3K price you quoted is pretty good, if someone beats it, it won't be by much unless there is some rediculous close out sale somewhere

I don't really see a three thousand dollar difference. To each their own, I guess.

I think there is another argument Stern vs. PIAA thread somewhere in this forum. It's definitely a 'To Each His Own' argument. I went with PIAA. At the time I didn't know that the Stern design was out there, but when I found out later I compared the two and decided that I had made the right choice.

However, I did get my silver super rozzas at a really good price (for brand new) which sealed the deal for me. At full MSRP these wheels are not too far off from some Volk or Work wheels in terms of price per size, so I probably would have gone with something lighter and higher quality like Volk or Work if I was considering paying MSRP on the PIAAs.

EDIT: Another thing I must say is that I was disappointed to find out when I received my super rozzas that the rivets are non-functional. They are two-piece wheels, but the inner section is welded to the outer section. When I was shopping for these wheels I saw the rivets and knew they were a two-piece design so I just figured, at that price point, that they were like other high-end wheels where the spokes separate from the rims. It's only really a huge deal if you have a problem with non-functional rivets for decoration only.

Damn those Piaa do just have a better luster on them than the Stern which I was thinking about buying. Is it because of the chromed lip or the color of the car?

Based on those two pictures alone it might be a matter of cleanliness. However I believe comparing two brand new clean wheels, one of each, the PIAA will have more luster as you mentioned. The PIAA lip is anodized whereas the Stern lip might be polished or machined, I can't tell. No chroming involved with the PIAA.

Here's another (personal) example of that PIAA shine

I don't believe the Sterns will look as shiny up close, and won't have as fine of a finish, but I could be wrong.

^^ What are your offsets and any spacers in the rears? I assume they are the 19x9 and 19x10 in the rear.

Offsets are +25 for front and rear wheels, and yes they are 19x9 front and 19x10 rear. No spacers in those photos, although I am considering a 10mm spacer in the rear if it will fit without rubbing. I will check when I reinstall the wheels next month.

decent 19 inch tires run almost a grand man. math > you

and yes, stern's look alike, but if you saw both next to each other, you would see the world of difference. the two wheels are price accordingly.

You said it. A while back I was at a meet and a guy had a set of Sterns (don't remember which type) but I remember thinking to myself that the quality was about on par with my Arospeed RS-GT's (~$600 per set) that I had on my previous car. Bottom line is that like a butterface they look good from far, but they're far from good.

I did not intend this to be a Piaa vs Stern bout. I was just trying to find out if anyone has come across a better pricing. The tires going on these rims almost run $1200. If I had the cash I would buy [lighter] the sf Challenge in mag blue but considering I was quoted paying what the entire Piaa setup would cost just for the wheels I couldn't do it.

Thank you to the ones that sent me sites to check out.

be patiant and wait acouple months and i bet someone in here well sell the PIAA's. At one point there were like three members selling theirs at the same time for about 1500, just be patiant if price is a big issue for you. I honestly liked these rims too, they look great on a DB. But i had a deal on some 19inch g35's rays i couldnt pass up.
