S03 versus Expedia S01
Okay, which tire would provide the best straight-line traction:
Bridgestone S03 275/40/18 with 10.2 inches of tread and 220 treadwear or Bridgestone Expedia S01 265/40/18 with 11 inches of tread and 140 treadwear?

The advantages of wider traction goes to handling around the twisties.
You want more vertical traction for straight line performance. That's why you see dragsters with huge diameter tires and alot of sidewall.
