Default Which Setup.....

My options are as followed.... On 18" Work wheels.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo ----- $868.46 ***Love the price.
255/35
295/30

BFG KDW2 ----- $987.04 ***BFG's seem to have thicker sidewalls than any other brand, that's the reason for the sizing I chose. I will look at them before I get them.
245/35
285/30

Continental ContiSportContact 3 ----- $1,068.94 ***Comes with a free Magellan Roadmate 1200.
245/40
285/35

I had Kumho MX's before this and loved the grip so I want something comparable. I want to stay around the $1,000 mark and want something that will perform and have okay tread life, don't care about noise or rain that much since I don't drive the car that often or in the rain when possible.

The cheaper the better, but I wont get a crap tire.

You should also consider Falken FK452's...I have them on my Works and love them Best tire for the money IMO....
But of your options I'd prolly just grab the Hankooks

I would love the Azenis, but they only make them in crappy sizes. I was looking at the HTZ III, but I need a little better tier to perform with my suspension and the way I drive.

bfg ftw

i have the kdw's in 255/35 and 285/35 on 19"

they grip great on the street, ok on the strip, awesome in rain, they are a little noisy but it depends what the road surface is, sidewall doesn't seem to roll over much from what i've seen.

i've only had them on for a few thousand miles but so far treadwear is great and from other cars bfg's last forever compared to other tires so long as you keep the pressure's balanced

they are a little expensive but are cheaper than goodyear conti's michelin's etc and perform better from the tests i've seen

the only drawback i've everheard of about the kdw's is the noise but so what pump up the volume and even with the radio off it doesn't bother me (but i did used to drive a 4x4 w/ mud tires, bfg's were some of the quietest ones of those too)

Why not look into Falken 452 and Toyo T1R? Great tires for the price.

Because I have driven on both and neither are even remotely sticky enough for me.

Fawk it, m going with the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position

Comes in a good size and is rated top in it's class. PS2's are also at the top, but don't make the size I want and the dry traction rating (most important to me) is only .1 off from the PS2's so that's my choice.

I wanted to stay around $1,000 and these are going to cost me $1,054 so im right on the money. Hope I like em....

Only bad thing is the 140 tread wear. They better be damn sticky for that.

Anyone running these? How you like them?

Yeah I have weighed it and I would much rather spend more for a tire that I know will stick and have it last half as long as something that im scared to go hard into a corner with but last for a while. I don't drive the car enough to have a need for long lasting tires, 26,000 miles in 3 years lol, these will last me a while in time perspective, but maybe not miles.
