Default Anyone have experience with Dunlop SP Sprot 9000's

Im trying to order a new set of rims for my car and it seems that the Bridgestone S-03's 275/35/19 are on backorder because they are not doing any production as of this time. I was told that it may be up to 90 days before they are avaiable again, this sucks! They do have the Dunlop's in the same size but I'm unsure about these. It seems that they are not rated as high as the Bridgestones by customers especially in the road noise dept. Any opinons would be helpful.

Thanks

I was in the same situation as you back in march. I went with the dunlops cuz the S-03's were backordered and i got a killer deal from America's Tire Co. The tires aren't bad...of course i don't have anything to compare them with at this size. Grip is improved over stock but that could just be from the change in width. Wet grip should be pretty good too...i had the SP8000's in 18" a few years ago and recall the wet grip was good. The way i look at it...i could have the wheels in the house still waiting for tires or i could get the dunlops and by the time the S-03's are available my dunlops will probably be worn out anyways. I am actually hoping to see the Kumho MX's available in 19".

I've run the SP's on both my other Z's & still have them on my 91. Last change on my 87 I got a good deal on some nitto's but they don't feel quite as tight as the SP's so I will be going back to them soon as well as putting them on my 350. I thing that they're great tires for the money!

They are not a true max performance tire. The nose swivels fast but the tire can't deliver after that. Lots of cornering sssssh on hot pavement, too. Go for the GS-D3 or AVS Sports.

Very true. I don't drive that aggressive most of the time & the SP's seem to were better. I've also discovered that if you pump them a little higher than the car's spec the handling is much better & they still wear evenly. You may have changed my mind on what I put on the 350 next though.
