if you want to run 255s, i suggest running toyos... the rounded sidewalls help a lot.. (Came from a e46 with rolled fenders, only tire cleared was toyo in the same size)

and they are not discontineud... I wrote Rays Japan (by accident) abou tthem and found out that they,, along with some other GT line wheels,, are now only made to order... The problem is,, find a retailer that will order them through Mackin,, and then have Mackin actually place the order in Japan...

I did... waiting for them to get back to me....

I found all that out,, like I said,, when I mistakenly e-mailed Volk about it instead of Mackin Industries... From what vendors have been telling me is that they cannot get the wheels from Mackin; nothing about being discontinued or anything... I asked "a friend" who more recently got a pair and he told me to contact Mackin directly to get a direct dealer list b/c they have to be ordered from a retailer (by me),, then ordered from Mackin (by the retailer), then purchased from Rays Japan (by Mackin) and this was basically verified by the "poor engrish" translated e-mail I got back...

all i know is its wierd lols...

 

Alvin - Try waxing the barrel and face of wheel before install.
This should give you at least 6 months of easier cleaning. I
stripped clear and wax my meisters every 6 months and
they seem to be easier to clean regularly b/c of the wax.

Just want to come in here and hate you for getting this car had an evo 8 for a DD -white- setup for dirt cheap but backed out and regret it everyday.

Ash33 / Motormouth - I have been hearing that they are discontinuted in the US but yes you should be able to get them still from RAYS Eng. It's just a pain to do since you gotta wait for a custom order as well. Some vendors will wait for several orders before placing it as well to save themselves the extra cost. I got this set through a trade so no waiting or anything I guess I just lucked out.

Pun1sh3RZ - Thanks bro, I really truly love this car. It does gets a lot of hate haha, as oppose to love when I drive the Z but I just enjoy driving it so much it really doesn't matter. You should try to pick up an 8 again, they're getting a bit better, should be low 20s for a decent one.

 

yeah,, you really did luck out then.... Finding them used,, or New/used is next to impossible... My "friend" got his through a contact at Mackin but unfortunately can't hook me up (one time only deal)...

now the bad part for me and others: No vendor on this has been really willing to help me yet... I get the same song and dance - "We cant get them"... I ask if theres anything that they can do and never get an answer... I do have a few more PM's out to certain vendors but I am disillusioned as of this point to them offering any help as well...

Ahhh well,,, the search goes on..... Be nice tho to have them in time for NOPI Supershow...

Sad to hear that you got rid of the Z man, it was def. one of my faves. As for not modding an Evo.... Come on man, who are you kidding. Nice wheels.
