Lightbulb Having a hard time mounting your aftermarket rims?

I know it's in the top 100 common questions, but I figured I'll post it in case someone doesn't see it or is looking for pics.

Story: Bought some Vok SF Winnings (). Brought them home, cleaned-em up, waxed & polished them, ready to mount. Ordered my lug nuts, and once they arrived on Wednesday I was ready to start.

Took off the front right wheel, and couldnt mount for the life of me. I thought the wheel studs may have been warped and maybe slightly bent over time from heat and use. Tried the left wheel, no luck. Measured bolt pattern, tried to force it a bit, no luck again. Realized i had scratched a bit of the wheel where there is an opening (see pic below). Measured the hub to the bolt (8mm), then measured the inner hub of the wheel to the opening (9.5mm).

Did some research and found out those bolts have no mechanical value. The bolt is there so people cannot mount the rear wheel onto the front, and vice versa. Remove the bolt and mount your wheels...

Anyways, best of luck. I hope this helps someone out in the future.

That bolt is a dynamic hub balancing bolt. They come in 10 different weights. If you remvoe these bolts then your hub will be dynamicaly unbalanced causing a strong harmonic distortion which could cause failure of the wheel bearing and carrier. I really hope you didn't remove it... did you?

Depends what side it's on, left is for brake fluid and the right is for caliper oil.

Guys, you got it mixed up. That bolt is for storing the air for run-flat tires. You take it off and your run-flat tire features will no longer work.

So when you're driving high speeds and your tires are singing, they'll be out of tune?

Oh man, I woke up this morning and realized my halogen fluid was leaking. Now my lights won't work.

Any thoughts?

Had that problem with my halogen lights. Find a plasma tv, cut it open and use the plasma to fill it back up. Works the same as halogen.

Its actually the bolt needed to remove a stuck rotor. Then the spacer on it is just the storage device for the bolt.

When I went to put my front wheels on the first time I couldnt get it on and was like wtf. Then looked and seen the extra bolt and took it off. Now im no genius but I figured it out lol I dont see why someone else couldnt and would need a thread to figure it out.
