Default Discount Tire are amateurs

I had Discount Tire mount tires onto my new SSR Professor SP1s and when I get home I find the one of the lips is slightly bent(I found out when I was cleaning the mounting junk off the wheels) and Im going to try to get them to pay for the repair. My question is, are the lips anodized? If I get a local shop to repair it will it discolor the lip a different color than the remaining 3? Ive heard this about Volks but I dont know if this applies to SSRs. Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

When the wheels came in I checked them meticulously. Plus the fact that they dropped one(i could hear the klang sound and they all turned around and looked at me to see if me and my friend heard it) and also theres a mark where the bend is. Any advice on the anodizing question? This isnt the first time theyve messed a wheel up. Ive learned my lesson about them.

Yes if your lip is anodized it will not match the others after repair. I repaired 2 front wheels at Wheels Of America on my other car and the lip never shined like rears again What a waste i was pist

they should cover it, although it would have been much easier if you would have caught it there. back in high school i used to work there, and anytime anyone made a mistake on a wheel, they would cover it completely.

good luck!

Yes in Cal Discount Tire is know as America's Tire. When I had them mount my BFG KDW's they scratched my stock rims. I'm sure their installers have little or no training. Les Schwab has much better installers but unfortunately they don't have much of a selection except for Toyos.

They put my front tires on my rear rims and my rear tires on my front rims. I don't think I would take my bike there

Do you mean they would cover it up and act like they didnt do it? or actually cover the repairs of the damaged wheel?

They don't have touchless mounting machine? You would think they would since all they do is tires but they aren't called "discount" for nothiing.

Stay far away from Discount if you don't want your wheels ruined.

They also suck with fitment. I asked for the most aggressive fitment of the Rays 99B for my car. They send me some weak *** offsets. I sold the wheels to a guy with a 240. F those guys. I'll have Volks when winter's over.

I agree Discount s***.

I have been buying tires from them for last 10 years and finally think I am done with them for good for various reasons that would take a lot of time to post but the latest is because they wanted to charge me $120.00 to take of my 2 potenzas on the rear of my z and put on my new 275/35/19 Vredesteins. I balked and calmly stated - "I have spent over 6K with them over the last 5 years on my vehicles which total over 50+ tires for me to maintain on trucks/car/boat trailer/ other stock and haul trailers and implements for the ranch and they want to rape me for the install of 2 tires"??

Their excuse was since my stock Ray's Eng racing rims are so expensive they need to charge more. I cannot believe the mgr gave me this reason for the high price. I asked him why should I pay more to cover their f-up if they gall my rims? He was aloof and didn't give care. I am so infuriated I almost want to talk to the higher ups, only I believe it still won't make a difference.

I put up with a lot of grief over misleading information/ poor balancing/lies/poor service and messing up my alloy rims on my Ram 4x4 over the years because of the low prices but I am now willing to spend more at NTB ........(until they start the same crap).

I ended up having a local shop in Elgin mount the tires for $60.00 which I still think is way high but I was impatient and didn't want to spend more time calling around-(new tires=me like a kid with a new toy)!
