Default what is the WIDEST TIRE F/R possible???

Whats the widest tires anyone has ran in the front/rear

I have a 275/40 in the front and rear on 17X9's but I think the sidewall is a bit tall on the 275/40's. I'm thinking of stepping up to 18X10.5-11 rear and 18X9.5 front. Can I run a 305/30/18 rear? And maybe a 285/30/18 front? I'll be running Hoosier R-compounds for autocross use only so I want the widest possible tires, I'll have custom rims made if I can't find any pre-made with the correct offsets.

Can you roll the fenders professionally. I mean, to make it look like it was meant to be?

There have been quite a few 305 folks. I had a picture on my desktop for almost a year ago of a Z with 11" wide rears with 305s and it was lowered.

thats damn good news. I'd like to go to 18X11 rears with 305/30/18 hoosiers and 285/30/18 fronts on some 18X9.5's or 10's.

Any idea on wheel selections that may have been used??

If I recall, john350z also has rolled fenders. His looked stock and I couldn't tell until I felt underneath the wheel well. Basically they folded the flange that normally forms an approximate right angle with the body back until it made a 180 degree bend. From the outside it looked stock unless you really looked close at the apparent thickness of the sheetmetal around the opening.

Havabooz,
I'm not a pro I just happened to have the fender rolling tool available and noone wants to help me.

Zoasis, I know for the fact that you can run 305 in the back. You might have to get custom made wheel with offset around 28 on 10.5" and roll the heck out of your fender. Make sure you check how wide the Hoosier really is. Some race tires are wider than normal.
I'm running 295/30-19 with 10.5" offset 22. The setup clears the fender (after rolling) with no rubbing whatsoever.
Widest wheel I've heard so far is made by Wald @ 11.5" but they have to run narrower tires because the offset won't clear the fender.

Too bad my server doesn't work right now due to excessive bandwidth usage or else I can post some picture for you. Anyone wants to donate the server space???

Check out my sig. No rolling of the fenders needed. No problems with rubbing whatsoever. Probably its my offset that makes everthing perfect.

Aoasis,
I just ordered the RPF-1 17x9 +35 (reportadly < 16lbs) with Nitto road race 275/40s for all corners. DTD gave a great price. I do not know anything about these tires, but they are cheap race rubber. What is your offset on your 17x9s?

From past experience...Hoosiers measured bigger than the industry standard as far as width goes. a 305 Hoosier may be significantly bigger than someone elses 305. Just a heads up

Mine are +35 offset front and rear. There is about 1/16" clearance with the suspension on the tires in the front, I hope your tires are not slightly wider than mine. they work very well compared to stock wheels/tires, I'm just looking to go with slightly larger and lower profile Hoosiers.

Thanks for the info, I may need to stick with 285/30's then in the rear.

what setup do you have for me in a 18X9.5F and 18X10.5 Rear setup with and without Hoosiers? I'll probably just slap some used Hoosier on for now.

PM me pricing. I guess SSR Competitions would probably work out OK with 18X9 and 18X10.5.
