Default What Tire on OEM Wheels? For road-race/track

I'm going to be participating a race event feb 13 2009 at Thunderhill, alot of you might know about it around California. I will use my 6 spokes 18" factory wheels but I'm not sure what tires to use (street/track) I don't want slick tires, something I can use for both. I don't know much about tires. I've heard of Azenis, Potenza and such people uses...

all the ones mentioned plus dunlop star specs, hankook rs2, kumho xs, michelin ps2.

or if this is your first track day, just use any tire you have available, as long they're not corded. try 36-37 psi hot as a starting point.

and watch out for your brake pads.

If this is your first event, just show up with what ya got and drive. If you have to buy tires for you wagon wheels anyway, any of the ones listed above plus OEM Bridgestone RE040, RE050A, etc., will do just fine. Aren't those 18x8 all around? I'd put 245s on all 4 for a squre set-up and rotatability.
