Default powdercoat/paint volk sf challenge

thank you for that, tac-m. I shouldve asked that before asking about pricing and reputable shops.
Would it be safe to powdercoat volk sf-challenges? if so.....

[I]Also posted in the Northeast region forums; just curious about pricing.[I]

Hi, I just picked up a set of gloss black volk sf challenges from my friend. im not a huge fan of black wheels(especially gloss black), but i got a great deal on them. Im thinking about making them silver or a gunmetal color; does anyone know a good place(in northern jersey) that will powdercoat or paint them, also around how much this will run me?

Thanks

not a local so I can't suggest places, but the cheapest powdercoating place we have around here charges 40$ a wheel, and 80$ an hour to sandblast the current wheels. their quality was medium grade.

you can expect to spend up to 200$ a wheel at the highest tier places, ahh, rip off : )

now a more interesting question - is it "safe" to powder coat volks ?

i know that it typically requires a high temp oven, so would it weaken the metal ?

cheston, what do you think ?

If powdercoating Volk wheels damages them then I will never own a set.

I've had so many things powdercoated including forged aluminum sportbike wheels and have never had a problem.

This thread almost makes me sad since those are one of my favorite wheels and in the exact color I'd want too!
