Default 18" Track/Autox tires????

Is it easy to replace tires on and off my stock track rims? I don't really want to buy another pair of 17" rims for the track. On my old car I knew how to change the wheels which already had tires mounted. I would swap them myself before going to the track.

I have never actually mounted the tires myself on the rims. Is it easy to take off the stock tires and mount the track tires? Approximately how long does it take?

Also, What are good tires for the track/Autox since there aren't many 18". Thanks.

ummm... so you are really asking this question? and you are planning to go to the track? Have you EVER been to a Discount Tire store?

This is not your bicycle tire that you pop off with a plastic tire tool.

Unless you have the tire machine sitting in your garage, you WILL have to tkae the wheels/tires to a tire shop and have them mount/dismount your tires.

umm... are you serious?

Besides what audito350z said, you will also need to balance tires after you remount them. That's another very expensive machine no including the one that mounts and takes off tires.

On the bright side, you can get a relatively cheap, wider set of 17 inch wheels that will make for a great track setup.

good luck

Dmitry
