Angry Bottomed out and bent the frame!

So, I was backing into this parking spot, that had a hump going across all the spots. what I couldn't tell, is that the back of it was also the end of the sidewalk (so it was all smoth except right there, where it was a drop-off). So, I'm backing up, and the rear wheel came off it, and the car landed on the fram, with the rear wheel in the air.. Got it off the jack, with some help, and some pieces of wood, but I went and looked at it, and part of the frame is bent.

It is right in front of the control arm. I am wondering if this is gonna through my alignment out, or is I am going to have structural problems... Do I file an insurance claim and get it fixed? WTF....

Take to a reputable body shop 1st and get an estimate. If there is indeed structural damage call and file a claim...I'm sure your deductable isn't over 1K?! That's why I keep a 100/100 deductable my friend.....every freakin new car I buy either get hit by another driver or a foreign object in the 1st 6 months of ownership. Good lucK I guess! LOL

Okay, I jsut checked, and it is this v-shaped piece that goes accross, and it looks like all it really is is protection for the underbody, for uh, events like this. It is now touching the gas tank, but the tank is okay. I'll price out a new piece, but I think unless it starts to rattle, I won't mess with it. If it does, I'll probably see if I can find someone to straighten it. :P

That is one of the underbody braces.... It should not affect your alignment
