Mitch-elin problems
Just got some Mitch-elins PS put on my 08 Touring (all stock except for 20mm and 25mm spacers). Keep the OEM sizes…They started out just fine smooth…but then…they have progressively gotten worse (or at least one of them is??). Meaning the rears or at least one of the rears started making a noise like it had a flat spot. I’m guessing here that it is one of the rears since that is where the sound is coming from (rt rear). Not feeling anything in the steering. Actually sounds like the wheel/tire is hitting some thing as it rotates. The car drives like it is not rolling freely.
I wont go into details but the place that put them on and did a four wheel alignment messed up two of my wheels and we now have a call in to the “wheel doctor” to fix them..anyway back to the story. Did not want to take the car over and leave it (if they messed the wheels up no telling what would happen to the car) so I took the right rear off (the one I thought was having the problem) and took it back to this “tire and alignment” shop to have them check it. I was told that they did not “load test” the tires (since they were new) so they load tested this particular one and I went back home and put it on the car. The problem still exists. I’m going to take the left rear off and take it in but I was just wondering if “load testing” is some thing that you guys have done every time you get new tires.

WTF is "Mitch-elin"?
Bring them back to wherever you purchased the tires. They have a load rating directly from Michelin - they do not need any other special "test" besides mounting, airing them up, and balancing them. Did the tire and alignment shop say the tire wasn't balanced? That could make the problem you are describing occur. Did you remove the spacers and see if the problem remained?
