Hi Guys!

We're proud to announce that we will be joining MY350Z officially as a manufacturer's member -

A little bit of info of ourselves -

RAYS is the manufacturer of brands such Volk Racing wheels, Gram Lights, 57 Motorsports and other prestigious brands.

RAYS is mostly known for one piece mold forged wheel products that are available for the most discerning motorsport enthusiast.

Alright, somebody that might know why these wheels stain so easily. What are the dark blotches all over my GT 350z's rims? A couple people on here have the same problem. Nobody knows how to get them out. Is it brake fluid that gets soaked up by the clear coat? Any hints tips or tricks? Recalls?

I didn't mean all rays manufactured wheels in general just Rays Lightweights that come as factory option. Don't want to stiffle your guys' sales on here.

We scream at all of the planning guys all the time for years -

We need -

1) Concave
2) Lip
3) Both if possible

The engineers, designers, planners - they all fight to make sure they get what they want out of a wheel -

1st priority at RAYS -

1) Technical competence - It has to be light, strong, rigid - each new wheel must beat the older ones in these categories.

2) Of course safety - it must be able to pass RAYS JWL + R standards.

3) Then design, application, etc...

The people that work on the forums are the marketing, planning side - so we know what you guys want - its a matter of getting them to do it in a new design.

Keep letting us know what you want and we'll do our best to deliver thanks!

Hi there - sorry - we are not a vendor to sell - you'll need to contact your nearest RAYS dealer to buy anything - or hit up one of the Authorized dealers on My350Z.

As for your SF challeneges - unfortunately - RAYS cannot sell the barrells as they are assembled in Japan to exacting tolerences on a robotized assebly line. To sell outers is a liability for the factory -

Your best bet would be to order a new wheel.

Sorry and thanks for your support!

If its a factory RAYS wheel you should contact the Nissan dealer to get a warranty. The finishes on OEM wheels are actually much much much x 10 higher durability that aftermarket wheels. For example most factory wheel finishes must pass over 1000 hours of salt spray testing to pass - whereas high end wheel makers will generally test to 300-500 hours. Low end wheels probably under 300 or who even knows if they test.

However you never know - it could be brake fluid (that will mess up any finish), road grime or anything that may mess up the finish - The surface finish of the factory wheels are tested to withstand as much as possible, but there's always something out there that can mess up the finish.

Best bet - call the Nissan dealer and start a claim.

Thanks

How about just knock down the 3 months wait.

I would also like to see black as a standard color.

I as a consumer think that for the money spent, i should not have to wait that long, especially in todays industrial environment.

Thank you for your comment with regards to this matter -

We would like to explain some of what goes into the wait time for order of wheels that are not in stock or for special orders.

As we always strive to reduce the wait by keeping parts in stock, we there many cases where the customer has to wait.

We have to factor that RAYS produces wheels for many levels - OEM sales, Private Label, Racing use, and Aftermarket. As an order is received from a customer, the part is keyed in to the system in line of thousands of orders worldwide.

Although it generally take 4-5 days for the actual manufacturing, wheels are made in lots, not in sets, as they are made utilizing many sets of molds. That is why manufacturing usually takes 3-6 weeks depending on when the lot can be produced.

Then we have to factor in shipping times from Japan to the final destination. Most of the time parts are shipped on ocean freight - For example from Japan to USA - on container there is a 3-4 week lead time (one month) from port to port / customs clearance.

The reason for the premium price for the wheels is for the amount of R and D, the materials, the patented forging processes, quality inspections, highest quality standards in the industry that is all embodied in a RAYS wheel. We strive for the best product possible for your vehicle.

At the same time we are doing out best to reduce lead times and we'll do our best for you. Thank you for the comments and we're always pushing the factory to improve on this matter.

Much thanks!
