Default quick tire noob question

i have a 2004 350z with no VDC and i'm lowered on GF210 spring. it's time for new tires and was wondering what are the pros and cons of going with a wider tire? will comfort be sacrificed for better handling? btw i have the 17" stockers.
just confused on the advantages/disadvantages of wider/taller sidewall tires. should i just stick with factory specs? i don't auto-x or anything, just strictly daily driving.

If just DD, sticking with the factory specs is always a good idea. I think they are 17x7.5 with a 225/50/17 and 17x8 with a 235/50/17? I never thought the 235 looked quite right on the rear of a 350Z - you could go a little larger (10-20mm) if there was some driving reason (good tires on sale, whatever), but it's really not necessary.

Members combine an endless combination of tire sizes. The car will perform differently – not necessarily better. My recommendation is OEM sizes and superior tires.

It’s the tire not the size.
