19" G35 Rays Rims - What kind of Lug Nuts to use?
Does anyone here know if the 19" OEM G35 Rays require tuner lugs, or if the standard lugs will work?
I'm replacing my stock 17's on my 350z, and am curious if I can use the same lugs, or if the Rays use special lugs. TIA.

I'm pretty sure aftermarket wheels need tuner lugs because of the smaller holes. But for the OEM G35 wheels, u can use acorn lugs (tuner/OEM) w/ the proper 12x1.25 threading. OEM is acorn style. And if I try to put my OEM lugs into my Enkei RPF1s it'd be a total ***** to get out, socket won't fit in.
What are 'regular' lug nuts? There's the flat face kind, acorn/conical (same thing), and ball/round seat.

The only differences in nuts are the diameter of the top part of the nut, or where the socket/hex key goes.
Acorn:
Closed or open end, Larger diameter upper socket portion that equals diameter of the start of the base of nut. require a 13/16 socket to tighten/untighten.
Acorn (Bulged):
Closed or Open end, smaller diameter upper socket portion that is more narrow than the start of the base of nut. Require a 3/4 socket to tighten/untighten. (most similar to the "tuner" nuts)
Tuner Nuts:
Open End : Smaller diameter upper portion. "Bulge" style acorn that uses a smaller socket/key to tighten/untighten. Even smaller diameter on extended nuts after socket portion, usually round. (prevents wheel damage upon tightening/untightening as smaller socket/key has less chance of touching lug holes on wheels) Can be had in regular or extended.
Closed End: Same as Open end except the obvious. Can be had in regular or extended.
Note: Tuner lugs can come in extended lengths longer than any regular acorn nut, multiple colors, and they are also usually either forged steel or Aluminum. All are recommended to be torqued with hand wrench, and not impact wrench.
There is also another style, but it hasnt been used in 20-30 years.

The lug holes are pretty deep. OEM works fine but you need to be very careful when using tools to take them in/out. You will end up scratching them a lot.
I recommend getting long spline lugs. That's what I plan to do.
