Default Space Saver vs 'Screwed' Tyre

Gutted to get back from holiday to find a flat rear drivers side (slow) puncture, and a screw on the outer edge of the tread (v close to side wall). I need to drive 60 miles to pick up my new tyres and get them fitted.

The question is whether I'm better off risking driving with the slow flat and the screw almost flush to the tyre (it is a v slow puncture), or to use my space saver.

I'm concerned that 60 miles on the motorway with a screw in the tyre might risk a blow out, but that driving on the smaller spacesaver (all be it at 50 mph) might also cause damage?

Your thoughts would be appreciated!!!

Definitely use the spare tire (space saver). They are fine to drive on for relatively short distances (60 mi is fine), and much safer than driving on a punctured tire.

Use the spare. It will not remain a "slow puncture" with heated air and the stresses of motorway driving.
