Default I have done it...gone wider!

I have just upgraded my nismo 350z's tires after just over 7600 miles on the stock potenza RE050's. Needless to say, they were kinda crap. Doesnt help that the nismos came from the factory somewhat out of alignment. So, I have upgraded to 265/40/18 fronts, and 285/35/19 rears (up from 245/40/18, and 265/35/19, respectively.) The tires are now Bridgestone Potenza RE-11. So far it seems to be good!!!! I hope they last longer than 7500 miles, I plan on getting an alignment this weekend just to be extra safe, even though I got one last month. Here are some pics, and more will follow soon!

Not bad. I'm going to do the same except that I'm opting for 265.35F/295.30R on Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires on my Nismo. The Hankooks run a little bit wider than the Bridgestones and they're a lot cheaper.

i would have done the 255/35 and 275/35 respectively. those look waaay too beefy on your car imho. very functional though, just not aesthetically pleasing.

thanks for the replies. The only thing i don't like is how meaty the tires look. But I think the tires make the car feel smoother without sacrificing its handling capabilities.

Pray tell you simply replaced the brakes and didn't eat through rotors in 7600 miles? lol

hahahahaha, no i changed them out at around 2000 miles. I replaced them with Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors. No reason other than they look good and they perform well!

Noticeable difference in performance? I'm going to do mine in the spring!

I've got 255/275 and I don't think your tires look very if at all noticeably different than mine. I actually prefer the look, the stock ones always looked to thin .

Nice job. How do you like the RE-11's? I went with PS2 cause it rains like no tomorrow up here and a little bit more tread.

I like the way it looks too. Im more of a function over form type of person, and always strives to make things somewhat better than they can be. The tires have alot of tread on it, they look deep. The car rides SMOOTHER than the stock RE050A on them. The steering feels smoother, less vibrations, and turnin requires alil more effort, but its that "driving a sports car" type of feeling. At speeds, its still noisy, but its quieter than stocks, which I am very happy with. I actually drove through a quick downpour we had and the tires handled amazing. I actually felt like i was driving on dry roads. No slip--nothing. I highly recommend it, and they are cheaper than the PS2, when lookin at the prices on tire rack in comparable sizes.

How are you seriously being a dick? And there shouldn't be an answer. I could have done 255 if I want, but the tire combination I wanted wouldn't allow me to have these certain tires, so I went to 265...if that's okay with you.

i would've kept the front 245/40 the same, but the rear is a nice upgrade.
