Default Blizzak WS-50 Snow Tire Sizes...little help?

Hello All,
I'm looking to get a set of four Blizzak WS-50's for the wintertime. I gave The Tire Rack a call today, and they have the stock tire size for the front wheels, but not the rears. In lieu of stock size for the rear, the guy I spoke with reccommended 225/55-17's, which would obviously be slightly narrower and a bit taller than stock. Would mounting tires this size cause me to have any major problems with handling, traction control, etc? I don't think they would've reccommended this size if it would create a problem, but this is my first time buying snow tires and I want to make sure everything goes smoothly.

I'm not the tire expert, but what I found out was that for the price of four "cheaper" winter time rims AND 4 Blizzak snow tires, I was able to go out and buy a 1989 Jeep Cherokee. One Owner, 103,000 miles no rust gets 21 MPG on the highway, and I DON'T have to worry about someone ELSE crashing into me, no matter how sure I am of my own winter driving skills...

Thanks for the wisdom lowbeeZ...I don't have VDC, so a change there won't be an issue for me, but from what you say, it sounds like the difference is small enough that TCS won't be affected too badly.
