ok i bought some sportmax rims 006 black with the red lip........... i bought these a while back and am now ashamed of them lol..... the tires are still great and the rims only have light scratches here and ther, so im looking into powder coating them. what is a good color? i was thinking about gloss black... i have an all black 04 z. any ideas and piks would be great, i would love to get new rims but just dont have the money right now, i would love to get the rims coated in bronze, but i think it would look wierd with a lip the same color. any help would be great, thanks guys!

That's the problem with any re-painted/powdercoated rims. They look cheap because they are usually done all in the same color.

 

Well you just go ahead and do it. If anyone complains tell them davidv said it was OK.

 

Just sell them , by the time you have them powdercoated you will have over $250 invested in each wheel, not to mention the needed spacers to make them look good. Just off them and buy better wheels.

 

i would love to sell em, but its too much of a loss, i kno the rims arent popular, i found a reputable powder coating shop that with dip/strip each rim and powder coat any color i want for 65 a piece. so 260 for all 4 isnt bad, the shop will even warranty them for a year, besides i like the style of the rim, just not the red lip anymore, sooooo shud i get them gloss black? matte black? gunmetal? bronze? friggin pink, lol, if it helps, im not lookin to black out every damn part of the car, i have an ings kit waiting to be put on the car, so what color would look good? or should i jujst try n trade sumone rims? im about read to get rid of all my carbon fiber as well

 

Matte black lip with gloss black face or the other way around? I think either would look alright. Black lip with silver or gunmetal face?

i kno there diff style rims, but this is a pretty close look i think, if i went with all black..... wutaya think?

 

i'd say sell them for $400.oo and get the new 2010 lineup. the xxr 521 is only $500 for all 4 with okay offsets and would looks better on your car

 

those are nice rims, but wheni get new rims in the future, there def be an upgraded brand, till then, work with what i got i suppose
