Default Tire gash *input needed*

so idn what happened, I don't remember hitting any curb or anything but I noticed my wheel/tire got scratched and a there is a gash in my tire. One person told me I should be fine another said I should really get it changed asap because it could blow. On a side note a shop said it would cost $100 to fix the wheel, does that sound right?

The repair cost sounds about right, a buddy of mine advans were damaged more then that and it was only $70. For the tire I personally wouldn't trust it. Is 1 tire worth the risk of blowing on the freeway going 65mph and causing a possible crash?

*edit I just went through a dilemma similar to this. I got a nail in my tire almost on the side wall. one shop said they can repair and everything would be fine. Another more trusted shop said it can be repaired but it would be unsafe to drive since its so close to the sidewall. I just replaced it because its not worth mine or my girlfriends safety.

Fix the wheel and replace that tire...just not worth the risk. After all is said and done you will be happy. Or you repair wheel/drive with tire and every time you hit a pothole or something, you worry - I personally don't want that ragging in my mind every time I hit a pothole...but I also drive on realllllly crap roads haha

either way...good luck!

Why risk a blow out at 70 mph. Theres more than enough R.I.P Z threads not to mention the most important your life.

JLB Apollos. They are pretty much TE37 replicas but I like them and they were a great price. 19x8.5 +20 19x9.5 +20. If I remember correctly they weight about 20lbs a piece. Here is a better photo:
