Default Tire Size W/Rays Track wheels

I have 2003 Track model with the Rays wheels; 8x18 front and 8.5x18 rear.
Whats the widest I can go tire-wise to get the best handling and not upset the electronics. I'm gonna go with the Hankook V12's as a tire choice.
I searched and was leaning towards a 265 in back but think it's too wide and would induce sidewall flex and kill handling.
Would 245/40 and 255/40 be the best bet?
Thanks.

An 8" wheel can safely house a 255 tire, though 245 would be more ideal. An 8.5" wheel can house a 265 tire, though a 255 is more ideal. I like 245/255, which will also take away some of the understeer.

And those 275s are too big for everyday driving.

245/40 and 255/40 is what your stuck with till you buy some wider wheels.

Thanks everyone, will order today. Gonna stick with the Rays wheels-rather put the money into modding the IS-F.
