Default Spray Painting OEM Wheels

I've got a 2003 Brickyard Touring Z, 18 inch 6 spoke OEM rims. I am sure this has been asked many times before, but spray paint = $20 and the cheapest powder coating estimate i could get was $420 plus tax. Does spray paint on a Z look ghetto or too ricey? I want them matte black or just a different, darker color than silver and they have several scratches from the previous owners. I'm not in the market of buying rims, so should i leave them alone or use my rustoleum shakers?
