Question Could this be a manufacturer problem? (Vredestein Sessanta tires)

Yesterday I noticed that my front right tire was a little flat so I inspected the tire and noticed these cuts on the tread that go all the way around BOTH front tires. I haven't checked my rear tires yet, but I'll have to take a look to see if they have these cuts too. I filled the flat tire with air earlier and could hear an air leak right after, but I can't tell where the leak was coming from. I doubt those cuts are deep enough to cause an air leak though. The last time I inspected my tires was about a month ago and I didn't notice these cuts. Could this be a manufacturing problem? I'm going to take them in to the shop I bought them from tomorrow and see what they say. I'm just wondering if anyone else had this problem before with these or any other tires.

Not sure. Are they on the rears as well?

I have 10K miles on mine and show nothing of that sort FWIW.

I haven't checked the rears yet. I'm at work right now and my car is at home so I'll check when I get home tomorrow.

I wonder if there's anything in my wheel well that's scraping against the tires. But then again, I haven't messed with my car's suspension at all and my tires weren't like this a month ago.

Either a suspension component or the fender.

I thought of that too, but it isn't. There are no screws on top of them or nothing that could be slashing the tires like that. I even covered them in duct tape so no splinters get out of the wood.

I did a web search for known issues and it directed me to the discussion thread on this forum and I found that picture in the thread.

Check this out too:

Your issue isn't listed and I think you may have just run over something or it was a bad road surface.

Ooops I forgot to update this thread!! Cux350Z was right, it was the cotter pin that was sticking down and digging into the tire every time I hit a bump. I just bent it upwards and problem is fixed
