tire size on stock 18's??
I run the NT-05 tires, 245/40-18 in front, 275/40-18 in the rear. I like the wider tire look in the back as well, and with the NT-05's the car still handles great for my everyday driving. Those tire specs are about the closest you can get (outside of OEM's) while keeping the speedometer honest. Works well for me.
So, I just figured out that the previous owner of my Z (with the help of some tire store dipstick) put 245/45/18s on all four corners.
The first thing I did was to measure the wheel width to see if they had actually gone the extra step and made all four wheels the same...
they didn't. Wheels are roughly a half inch wider in rear. Then I thought they must have cheaped out and put the narrower tires on the rear,
but after a bit of research it seems that the rear size is actually correct, and the front are too big. So, assuming there's a perfectly good reason
why the factory didn't put 245s in the front like the rear to facilitate rotation, I have to think their all-the-same choice is going to cause some problems.. maybe
the front tread isn't sitting flat against the road?? Its a bit odd to me because the sidewall bulge vs the outer rim edge on the front tires actually looks
more correct than the rears...better protection from curbs etc... and the wheels do have some major curbage from the previous owner. Recommendations?

You just identified that the “previous owner” squared the tires with one too tall in the front. Are you asking for what to do about that?
Well, if your car doesn’t have VDC or TCS errors, no big deal. But if this bothers you, put the proper 225/45-18 on the front, making sure you put them on the correct wheel, seeing as how most Z setups are staggered 8/8.5. (Except for Touring six spoke)
Basically just wondering how big a problem it is to have 245s in front instead of 225s. And yes, I do get periodic slip warnings when none is apparent... not to mention they didn't replace any of the TPS sensors. Thanks.

If you get slip warnings then you have TCS or VDC. Other option to cure that but retain the extra width, go 245/40-18 up front for perfect fit, diameter wise, eliminating TCS/VDC activation.
