Default Hub ring Query

I know Ichiba spacers and other hubcentric spacers come with hub rings, but are these the same hub rings that some people use for their after-market wheels? I just see some people that use them and other's that don't. Can somebody shed some light on this for me? And exactly what are they for? I think they're there to provide more stability and a better fit, but not sure. Thanks.

Not the same, with the spacers installed your hub is still 66.1 and most aftermarket wheels have a bore of 73 . Hub rings adapt the two

So I'm guessing most aftermarket wheels already come with hub rings? Is this true?

Not necessarily.

A conscientious retailer should give you wheels with the proper rings. For example TireRack. I bought wheels and tires. Tires mounted, balanced with rings. Ready to put on the car.

hub rings help ur aftermarket wheels fit snug on ur bore so that once mounted there should be no room for it to move around on the bore n get a close to stock fitment. without hub rings on ur after market wheels at high speeds youll get a nasty vibrating feeling from ur wheels ur hub rings eleminate this.

Lug centric: center of wheel determined by lug position.

Hub centric: center of wheel determined by hub: Smart idea at 100 MPH.

Never mind. I thought this was important. Important enough to say “thanks” or simply reply.

Not, 90% of the aftermarket wheels are not hub centric or comes with any hub rings.

Hub rings are quite cheap but yet very important piece for your after market wheels.

Price around $15 to $25 per set of four.

either in aluminum or plastic.

We always included for free when we sell wheels.

i'm not the original op, but thanks davidv. This is important chit.

I'm using rays lmgt-4 so the bore is oem spec. But i'm going to purchase some volks in either 73mm bore or 61mm bore

What do you recommend. or does it not matter as long as i find some nissan specific rings?

^ G'luck finding Volks that fit exactly onto our 66.06mm hub. Just get the wheels you want then get the appropriate hub rings for you application.

My Enkeis use a 66.1mm ID - 75mm OD hub ring
