Default Getting New Wheels

Getting new wheels/tires on my 03 350z.
Car has feathering and tires on it now are pretty bald but getting new wheels as well for the Spring. Wheels on there now are stock but im looking for a more agressive look and definitely staggered. Dont know too much about wheels or tires but i was looking for advice or suggestions whether it be brands or sizes. My suspension is currently stock and im looking for 18 or 19 inch wheels. Im trying to go for a deeper dish wheel or a wheel with a nice lip. anyone have any suggestions on wheels/tires or what i can/cant or should/shouldnt do?

Edit: i plan on keeping the same ride height due to possible future suspension modifications and want wheels that would clear a brake upgrade and for wheels/tires im on a flexible $2000 budget

The first thing people will need to know is your budget.

~2200 for 4 wheels& 4 tires? idk budgets not too strict but also not looking to spend too much. not going pro mod so top of the line wheels isnt too important but i do want good wheels. idk how to explain it because i dont really know too much about wheels/tires. Cheaper the better without sacrificing performance for my needs. really only street driving in the summer, dont plan on tracking the car, however i may eventually on rare occasion.

hmm like marques said we need ot know a budget but some of this info can be found by a search though :/ You also have to think long term, as in offset and if you plan to stay on stock suspension :/

This is a relative statement. I don't think $2200 would buy crap. When tires run about $600 for something aggressive, now you only got $1400. There are not a lot of great rims for $1400.

yeah $2,200 max. I want a decent tire, again i dont know much about cars in general and been trying to learn everyhwere i can, but could i go 19s for the rear and 18s for the front on stock suspension? down the road i may lower the car slightly but what i had in mind was 18x9 in the front and 19x10 in the rear with a negative offset? however i cant seem to find any "good" deep dish wheels...they all seem to have a positive offset? doesnt a deep dish wheel need a negative offset??

600 for a set? i could raise my budget, its flexible, my budget isnt set in stone because i dont have a set date that i have to buy the wheels by, i see different prices everywhere, and was quoted well over a grand for tires.

Your math is slightly off, $600 for tires would leave him $1600 for wheels. A nice set of RPF1's can be had for $1200 new, not Volk , but still quality.

Hundreds of examples here. Look at what other members have done. Find a wheel-tire combination that you like. Copy it. No need to reinvent the wheel. (I love to say that)

Ive been looking around at other threads while reading responses here, ive seen a few i like but not all of them have specs and its slowly becoming difficult to find what i want, also im not sure whats "good" and what isnt. which is why i made this thread. for example how much of a stagger is "healthy" and how much just causes issues if any?

The stagger is front rear wheel width? Look at OEM stagger. That's about right. More extreme is

Front 8.0 inches
Rear 10.0 inches

The above example gains you nothing in handling.

All I can tell you is to look at what wheel design you like, then go from there. I like the look of most wheels, but most wheels have to have a sick offset to look badazz on our cars. ReSEARCHing is the best for you. That way in the future you can give advice, and pass on the knowledge. If you dont search for yourself, you arent really learning anything. Sure, youll get AN answer, but you might get 20 answers that you dont want.

I had my eye on a set of wheels for over a year, never looked into buying them until now, only to find out they are replica wheels!!! Which is no big deal, but thats an example of what research will do for you!!

lots of people selling their volks in the private sale section and they are selling for right around your budget with tires.

Stock stagger is no stagger on wheels for factory 18 in 03-05 , 7.5 front and 8 rear for 17's. 8 front and 8.5 rear for track and 06 newer 18's. The the Nismo and GT had 9 front and 10 rear.

I would stay within an inch of each other, never buy anything under 9 inch up front, and never stagger the tires more than 30mm in width, 20mm prefurred, non-stagger optimal for NA aplications.

Don't buy Sevas unless you need the extra brake cooling from your wheels cracking terribly.

OP please look in the marketplace and decide from there.
