hah right... i'd like to see a pic of a wheel that survived hitting a curb with some broken suspension components that didn't.

i hit a drain grate/ditch thing at full lock at a drift event and bent one of my tc105n's. i'm sure if it was a rota or some crap knockoff it would have completely broken. $50 to straighten a real wheel is cheaper than to replace a $300 knockoff.

Some of these responses are just idiotic... A fake wheel can't take the abuse of an authentic wheel plain and simple. You'd be buying more fake replacements to match or equal the price of an authentic (assuming you drive like a moron). You may hit that pothole 40x's and then crack an authentic wheel... Or go over that same pothole 20x's and crack a garbage fake.

Cool video
Not all replica's are created equal The wheel in this video is likely a cheaply made Taiwanese knock off that has no safety testing (ie JWL/VIA test standards).

Wed's should focus their efforts on improving the finish quality of their SA-55 instead of these silly videos

Rock chips are bound to happen regardless of quality of finish.

am i the only one confused about the fact that companies like varrdogs can blatantly steal the EXACT wheel design, in most cases the ENTIRE reason a person buys a specific wheel, of another company? i might just be ignorant (in which case please give me examples), but how many other industries can you get away with stuff like that? yes, there are fake gucci purses and stuff like that, but i've never seen so many companies making hundreds of thousands and getting rich off 100% stolen designs, as varrdogs, rota (although now rota apparently has decided to make some of their own designs), and others have.

to me a broken wheel is a broken wheel and regardless of forged or cast has lost a large part of its structural integrity, but stealing the exact design of a wheel is insane.

If something happened that caused me to hit something with my wheel at that angle with that force the last thing im thinking is "oh no i hope I don't crack my wheel."

I'm sure that is just one of their many tests.. I'm sure they impact them with the wheel vertically and head on as if hitting a pot hole. I would bet money that in hitting a pothole the knockoff wouldn't take the abuse and would crack and the authentic wheel would be a lot less likely to crack.

Search "Varrstoen" in this section and read away, sir. You are not alone.

I just realized that Varrs makes replica's of 2 of the 3 wheels I own... I'm waiting for the VSXX's reps now.

At least you still have one wheel that's left untouched by the filthy hands of the knockoff wheel companies...Cant say the same for my GTS.

Lock em' in the closet on weekdays and watch for drive-by reverse engineers when outside taking photos of em!

Agreed, but why did they not show that test? Could it be because the fake wheel did not break during those more normal conditions? I have never owned "fake" wheels, Just saying.
