Default anyone have hks hipermax II's?

just curious to know if anyone is running the hks hypermax II's (the chrome bodied versions). the ones with the 9kg/mm front and rear spring rates. if so, how is the ride, handling, control, etc. what are your impressions?

Yes.
With the struts set near minimum (<10 of 30), the ride is better than stock on small bumps and firmer on larger bumps. Overall, I like the ride better. Even with 275/40/17s on the front and toe set to 0, the turn-in is excellent. I also put on the Eibach sways at the same time and the overall handling is far superior, both on the street and at the track (set struts near max). I also added camber and traction rods in the back to bring alignment in. I dropped the car about 1" to get about 1.5 deg camber in front and then set the rear similar. I have done full race suspensions and this is very good.

The kit was flawless. The set-up for ride hieght and resulting alignment took many iterations, but is easy to do with patience. My third set of race tires will be ordered this week (Toyo RA-1s) for the street. I got very even wear with this set-up and 1.5 deg front, 1.75 deg rear camber.

completly agree on what patdsaunders says. very nice susp, and very well-made. i drove my buddies car with this setup, slammed albeit with 20's and still has a better ride than the stock. this susp. makes me feel planted everywhere i go, and only on certain bumps it is just a tiny bit harsher.
i am gonna ivest in these very soon!!

hey patdsaunders, if you dont mind me asking, where and how much did thses set you back? cheapest i've seen is like 1699$

thank you for the awesome information guys!!

i actually have a G35 coupe (this is the forum for any real technical info, however) and i was trying to see what the ride quality was like. i am pretty happy with my stock ride quality right now, but i would like it to be firmer when driving hard. the only thing i am afraid of is that it will be bouncy...did HKS match the damping to these spring rates pretty well?

i guess i should mention that i also have some 20's on order.

any comments or opinions on what the ride would be like day to day? firm i like, bouncy i don't.

thanks!
