Default Quick help

I looked at a million search threads and could not find an answer.
I am going to move my new 235/50/17 up front and I want to get 275/50/17 in back. What would be the correct offfset for new wheels so that the tires ride within the fenders? I read every thread and the wheel offset explainations and I am still so confused. Sorry for asking this stupid question once again. Just don't want to screw things up.

Thanks!

I don't get it. Isn't this a question for a Mustang forum?

Not sure why my mustang is coming up?? It is just a car I added to my garage, must have done something wrong when I entered it. This is for my Z of course, but I see where you got the wrong idea..

Fit is dependent on wheel width and offset. You cannot judge fit without both.

OK, so if I out 235/50/17 up front and 275/50/17 in back what is a safe range of offset? Looking at wheels is confusing since the offsets vary so much. I have found some great deals but the offsets between two sets of wheels is so great I do not want to make a mistake and have the wheels not fit. Thanks for any help!

Offset depends on wheel width, and vice versa.

In either event, a 50 series tires does not belong on a Z.

OK, I;m getting closer to understanding. done lots more research off this site. Thanks for the help guys.
On the response to "50 series tires don't belong on a Z", Is this only for performance oriented drivers or for stock cars like mine? My stock tire size is 50 series, and I don't plan on going bigger wheels so is this what you meant?.

It was the 275/50 I had a problem with, which your car did not come with. Nor can you put a 275 on your stock wheel.

One more time: Fit is dependent on wheel width and offset. You cannot judge fit without both.

275/50/17: Actual speed 100.0 MPH. Speedometer will read 94.3 MPH. This is not acceptable. See: http://www.performanceprobe.com/inde...calc&page=tire
