See "For the Racetrack" below my signature. They are on the car now, since I am going to Buttonwillow Raceway performance driving clinic on Dec. 20, and I can drive the S4 to work all week. It is raining here today. How dangerous is it to drive in the rain with those Kuhmo track tires on the car. The do have tread grooves. Thanks.

mmm ... i don't think those are r compound tires you have, they are a normal street tire.
the only competition tires kumho makes are the victoracers v700 and the exta v700
and they don't make 245/275 18" sizes in either of those tires.

yep... the Kumho MX is a street tire... drive in the rain all you want. Mole is correct about the Kumho R-compund tires. Those MX will be only slightly better than the RE040s on then track.
there's not a lot of 18" r-compounds available... and the ones I've seen are 265/35-18: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Pirelli P-Zero Corsa are two... I think Hoosier is another...
My track set up is 17x9 Enkei RPO2J with 275/40-17 Yokohama AO32R. I drive them in the wet and the dry... ok in the wet as long as the standing water is not too deep

With the extensive knowledge-base here, how do people on this site KEEP ****ING UP the tires sizes.
Your rears are slightly smaller than the fronts. Good luck trail-braking.
