Default Plus Zero Sizing of 17"

I went to a tire shop to get a quote on some new tires. I want to plus-zero the tires, giving them have a little more sizewall bulge to protect the rims and a bit of a wider stance. The guy looked at me blankly saying - whats plus-zero mean?

So - to avoid these run-ins, what are the plus-zero dimensions of our 17" tires?

Replys greatly appreciated.

Well, because the rears are narrow (8") there really isn't a plus Zero size.

If there were: 245/45/17 front - 8" OK
275/45/17 rear - requires 9"-11" rim width. You could put a 255/45 in the rear, but the OD would be .3" to .7" under size. It could work. 8" rim OK.
