Default New Wheels :) - Rota Torques

Rota Torques
18x9.5 +20 all around
255/40/18 Hankook Evo V12s Front, 275/40/18 Rear.

I know, I know it needs a drop. And I would have gone with the Work's I wanted but its hard to justify spending so much on wheels at this point, and they aren't going to be tracked on so they should be fine

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pictures, I promise Ill take some better ones soon.

Black wheels- black tires visually disappear on a Z. Making the well look like an empty cavern. On the other hand, black wheels with, say, stainless steel barrel, visually come to life. They pop.

I'm just not a fan of the black/black wheel&tire on the Z,even though it sure is the trend these days as it appears that EVERY Z is running these format.Dunno...some great wheel designs and workmanship hidden in black. From a distance looks like a black circle.
I see gun metal shades becoming more popular as is more bronze(on the right color car).
Polished rims to offset the black is really a good addition.
IMO,I like my car to look unique, different from everyone else.If I did'nt,I'd just be driving a white Camry.
(Going with 19's instead of 18's would have been a worthy improvement. Also,
spacers would help on your 18's.I'd have gone for more offset).

I'm confused why you'd spend at least $1k on these (likely more w tires) when
you could just be patient and got the real works for basically the same price.

seems silly to me, but i guess if you're into the whole instant gratification thing
it makes sense.

I agree the black thing is a little overdone but Im still a fan of that look. These are gunmetal so a little different than black, but I agree with what youre saying in that they kinda blend into the wheel well.

Im sure if I was patient I could find the works I wanted used in the classifieds, but I was impatient. I saw in the few months I was browsing the classifieds but they all had some sort of curbing or damage to them, so it was hard for me to justify spending that much on not perfect wheels, idk. Im happy with them for now so I guess thats all that matters right?haha

Thanks for the input guys

What's the weight difference over the works?

I saw a pretty bad accident this week on 95 northbound.
Pretty bad wheel fAilure On a scion tc - the wheel completely broke
Off from the hub. It was a rota. I hope yours hold up better.

Glad the OP likes the wheels he purchased. So this isn't directly aimed at him.

I feel almost majority of the people on here looking for wheels, have no idea what they're doing! They go for the easy, cheap, alternative route.

There are plenty of authentic wheels that sell on here for a great price. My friend picked up Work XD9's on here with full set of tires and +15 offset. A chip on one of the wheels. Seller asked for $1500, he got them for less.

Then again, you get people offering $500 below asking price for a set of discontinued wheels.

Looks goods, the wheels might not shine like Bling Bling lips in pictures but in real life they look mean and aggressive and set off the Z's already aggressive styling. Get some coilovers and go low and you'll be set.
