I've got 275/40R18 & 255/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They have too much road noise IMHO.

I may swap them for the TOYO's or the Goodyear F1 GS D3.

In late april I will be putting on BFG g-Force T/A Drag radial's on the rear in 265/40/18 with stock 18" wheels. For dry traction the tire rack rates it at 9.8 where all the tires listed above don't even break 9. The one downfall to this tire is the fact that it only has 5/32" of tread and will only last 12,000 to 15,000 miles, but it is worth the grip, to stay with those AWD cars.

I recommend the Kumho Ecsta V700 for a hyper-stickey streetable tire. Has rain grooves and last longer than a Hoosier.

Bridgestone is a Japanese company IIRC, parent company of Firestone also.

Just a thought about replacement tires. Most of my Z driving is highway because I am a consultant. Love the Z but have gone through the stages of having to go very fast and go around corners literally on two tires. I have had two other Z's and did all that stuff. Now I put it on cruise, put in 6 CD's, and zoom. Enjoy the ride and its comfort. I have been checking on a Cooper tire called the Touring. It is a harder tire than most performance tires and should last longer on wear and should also be more quiet on the road. None of the posts that I have read say anything about this tire. Thoughts?

the T1-S's are great, work well in rain with the V shaped tread. A little pricey but well worth it. Lots of sizes too, i think someone with 20's has them also, didn't know they make them that big, i have 19's.

By harshness, I mean the hard impacts feeling and high road noise of the Bridgestones. I wonder if a T1S or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S would not only be a better handling tire (I'm pretty sure of this), but whether it would exhibit MUCH less impact harshness and less road noise. I can't stand the stock setup!
My A/Ss have a lot less harshness and road noise and I will change the struts as soon as they are available. This combination should eliminate all three.

I like my toyos, even though I had a blowout on one of them with a small slit in the sidewall. In the rain, with my wide tires wrapped around my 19s, the toyos would give me suprising confidence. Drag radials are a great idea, but don't buy 19s if you want those drag radicals.

I'm leaning towards Toyos because I don't plan on buying dedicated race tires for a year or two, until I am good enought with this car to need them. I want to be able to drive everyday on the street and then take them to a HPDE. I think these will work for that purpose.

Wasn't the T1-S a spec tire for the Speed Touring Challenge series or something like that?
