Question TE37 19X9.5 +22 19X10.5 +22 Bronze QUESTION

I just got Volk TE37 Front 19X9.5 +22 Rear 19X10.5 +22 Rear

I didn't really know about this site. So, I went by what some Z owners told me when I ordered them. Well, the wheels came in and they look sick! So, I'm exited and I take them down to the local performance shop to put them on. They guy puts the car on the lift throws the rims on with no tires yet just to make sure they fit.

The wheels stick out about an inch past the fender FRONT AND REAR. I have a 04 350Z. So, the mechanic says to me you got jacked! I say why don't you throw a set of tires on the rims and set the car on the ground maybe they will come in a bit. He says to me no can do, those wheels won't come in an inch. Any way you slice it he says, those wheels don't fit your car.

The point of purchase of these wheels were.
I wanted to put ap racing 6 pistons on later. I wanted to drive the car around with the TE's untill I got the brakes in. When I did get the brakes I wanted to have the clearance I needed.

So, the question is, DID I GET JACKED? DO I HAVE TO CUT THE FENDERS? DO THE STOCK BRAKES PUSH THE WHEEL OUT FERTHER THAN AP RACING BRAKES? CAN I JUST ROLL THE FENDERS? HAS SOMEONE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE?

it's fine, lots of people have this setup. you will need to roll the rear fenders if you lower the car.

try using the search function

That is what could be the prob. No information on the wheel itself. On the boxes they say +22 on all four. I have used the search engine to the related sub. That is why I am so confused about this. Most people say yes, I have the wheels now and I just had to roll the back fenders. So, I did probaly get screwed. That sucks! I don't have anything to measure the true offset either. I do write programs for CNC's so I looked to see if I could machine the wheels. No can do I would have to take too much off the hub. The wheel lug holes don't have enough material for me to do so.

there should always be a sticker on Volk Racing wheels that specify diameter, width and offset.

example

Time for a body kit I guess. Didn't want to dig that deep but damn, these things are bad. Can't let'em go. I'll make them fit. Its funny too. I bought the car for a beater. I just wanted a daily driver to slide my way to the office. 1st I bought a KAAZ rear end (best thing I ever did) 2nd Wheels 3rd tires for the wheels 4th will be a body kit and the labor to put it on and paint.

For sure have to do the twin turbos. After that then you have to support the power which adds another long list of bull. My beater will end up costing more than the car I didn't want to put any miles on.

I have LE37's (same basic wheels as TE37) in the same sizes and offset you have. I just measured them, and at the center point of the fenders, they stick out about 1/4" outside the edge of the body, not 1". For yours to stick out that far, the offset would have to be almost zero. Without the factory designed negative camber in the rear they would stick out more at the top, but if your wheels are +22 and the car is set up right, they shouldn't stick out 1". If your wheels have no stickers on them, then somthing is fishy. I'd contact whoever you bought them from.

Yah, thats what I said. Well, I could avoid a body kit and put on some chrome mudd flaps and curb feelers but then I would have to put dingle ***** hanging from the head liner. At least it would look orig.

Heres the front. It doesn't look as bad to me.

ZZtopp:
You have these same "stated" style rims and offsets right?? and no rubbing -- You haven't rolled your fenders yet, right? Nor have you lowered your Z yet?? Am i correct?
I agree-- I have been researching whether this offset requires rolling for months now--00 cuz I want them!!!
And my conclusions from others who OWN the actual VOLK te/le37s in the 10.5 rear+ 22 offset say that they have mounted them WITHOUT rolling and have NOT had issues!!!
Sorry- I'm not buying that these are 10.5 + 22 rears with the way they are sitting --- then again, the tires aren't mounted with wieght on the rear.......

Well, I know they are 19X9.5 and 19X10.5 I can measure that. The boxes say +22. No sticker. I can also tell you they have never had a tire on them.

No, car never hit the ground. Yet.
Car is BONE stock. Bone like Base.

After seeing that picture of the front, I think with weight on it, and a tire of course, it may be right. I remember seeing my car on the lift with the wheels and tires on, and it looked like they stuck WAY out until it was actually on the ground. Whod id you buy them from? I can't imagine any Volks wheels being sold without the manufacturer's stickers on them.
