Any tip and shop recommendation for tire mounting?
Happy New Year to fellow m350z.com members!
I am prepare to mount tires on iForged AEROS(19"), tire sizes are 245/35 and 275/35. From reading previous members going thru this same task, some encountered bad experience(one member even had a brand new tire exploded when airing up by the mounting shop)
I researched further and found some comment by the more experienced members....
I guess "reverse barrel" and "reverse drop-center" means the same thing?
I am looking for some input on the following:
(1) What should I watch for when the shop mounts the tires?
- I think my iForged are "reverse barrel", so make sure the wheel faces DOWN?
(2) Any able/reputable shop to recommend? I am in south-east Michigan area(48104 zip code)
Thanks in advace for your input
Mickey

Also, some shops have no clue what "reverse barrel" wheels are. I am not familiar with iForged wheels, but if it was reverse barrel...and he tried to mount it with the face pointing up...thats why it happened. Anyway, theres a more experienced shop out there.
"reverse drop-center," which means the wheels go face down on the tire mounting machine (not face up like the OE wheels).

I highly reccommend that you take your wheels & tires to ATI Motorsports. Located in Wixom. They mounted my Toyo T1s on a new 19" set of HRE 547R, and did a superb job. See their web site HERE. Ask for Richard George when you call for an appointment. 248.848.9200 ext. 55. These guys are serious about doing it right and their prices are very reasonable at $25 a corner.
