^ Could you weigh the wheel (18x10 +25) so we can get a real weight, not just the advertised?

18x10 +25, not to rain on your parade, just don't like how some ads can be misleading.

D@mn. I'm going to be a real grumpy customer if these end up being as heavy as your scale is showing. I should be recieving them in a week. Weight was a primary concern of this purchase.

Higher offset F14 very little material left.

Lower offset wheels. More material more weight.

The lower offset F14s will have more material in the back hub section/back pad, thus more weight. They adjust the offsets by shaving (milling) off material.

^ The good news is that while the weight is higher, the wheel inertia is not terribly higher since the added weight is near the axis of rotation. The torque required to accelerate the wheel to a given speed within a given amount of time is directly proportional to the wheel Inertia. If you added the extra weight out at the 9.5" radius of the wheel, then the effect may be more noticeable, but given that the weight is added at ~2.25" radius I doubt the butt dyno would notice a difference in acceleration.

Of course, the unsprung weight is increased regardless, so there is the handling aspect to consider.

Yeah. This just sucks considering I made the purchase based off their own published incorrect information.

I have left a message for them and still have yet to hear back.

I haven't even received the wheels yet and I'm an unhappy customer. The other problem is that I have an event that I must make on the 6th (and I have already bought the tires for these wheels). So I'm stuck using these for an event or two because I don't have the time to return them. So I'm going to take a financial hit when I dump them after one event...which I may do, right after this event. Really sucks. Not happy with this company.

^ Are you always on the podium at your races? If not, I wouldn't stress over 1-2 lbs at each corner. In fact, the time difference will be negligible unless you're absolutely dead consistent.

You're absolutely right. In fact I'm just now starting to consider myself decent out on the track, so I have quite a ways to go before the negligible difference will actually make a difference in my times. But it's still frustrating, given that I went after these wheels with a few specific characteristics in mind.

Practically, you're right. But I still spent money on something I thought I was getting, and was deceived. In retrospect, I absolutely may have gone a different direction had I known the true weights.

This. I also recall an article regarding Enkei's GTC01 wheel testing wheel weight vs rigidity. Hard to say if it was a legitimate test as there are so many factors involved, but the more rigid wheel was able to posted the better lap time.

jblz, I hear ya. You definitely want your maximize money's worth and that's certainly not a bad thing. I was asking myself the same question not too long ago.

^^^ I appreciate it. In short, there's an event, that I really need to make to stay on track towards my progression into NASA, so I'm going to be stuck with the wheels for now. I'll look into buying some new ones later on. Thanks though.

If anyone else bought these Forgestar wheels under these same pretenses or under a similar type scenario, can you please PM me.
