Default Wheels and side airbags

I've been considering getting some aftermarket wheels for my 350z Roadster. Not sure what I want yet, but I came across something strange in regard to the LMGT4 wheels. Nissan states:

Application: 2003-08 350Z™ Coupe without VDC, 2004-07 350Z™ Roaster without side airbags

http://www.nissanusa.com/nismo/perfo...0S-RN89312.jsp

I understand how running certain sized tires in the front and rear could cause the VDC to go nuts(I only have traction control), but what's up with the side airbags on the roadster? I just can't see how it would matter, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money on wheels and tires and end up with issues, whether they be LMGT4 or something else.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why Nissan says they won't work with side airbags?
