So all rota had to do was make an 18x10/12 set of their junk wheels and now they won you over?

Not quite, they would need to make 20x10 & 20x12 versions of that wheel.

A couple things wrong with 20" rotas. First being that they would weigh a metric fck ton. Second would be that the tires that you would have to put on 20s would be like begging for your wheels to crack in half. Rotas need lots of protection. A lot more than the sidewalls on 20" dia tires could provide.

I agree with your assessment. I ran a set of Rota DPT (CE28n replica) on my old Subaru. They were 17" wheels with 245/40/17 tires. I felt fine knowing I had a 40 series sidewall protecting the wheels, but wouldn't go any thinner. Unfortunately I didn't keep the wheels (or car) long enough to put any real "city" miles on them and evaluate the condition, but I estimate they would have held up fine through normal wear and tear (large potholes/craters aside).

Point is they made a good size wheel with good specs. My Z isnt about performace lol car is slow, heavy, and to make fast it must be boosted which cost a stupid amount. Ill stick with it being low and slow and keep building my track car for actually going fast with

so these wheels are bigger than stock and can be lighter than stock or 2 lbs heavier depending on size you go with. So whats the deal? Why this much hate?

Is it because this was a honda wheel company? Are they three times more susceptible to breaking than varrs?

Please enlighten, Im eagerly awaiting.

Lol i think the SAME thing when people talk trash about cheaper wheel brands. Sure they may make knock offs and bla bla bla, but in regards weight they dont stray that far from alot of other "name brands". I mean, my RPF1's 18x10.5 +15 come in at around 18 or 19 pounds which is really damn light, only other wheel i can think of that is sold in that size and offset that is that same weight are TE37's. Are people going to start bashing me cause i didnt spend 1000+ dollars per wheel? lol probably not, it always seems like a one way road in that regard.

27 pounds is not THAT bad for a 18x12....Im sure if you looked you would be suprised at how heavy some custom work wheels actually are (just for example). Arent stock cast 18s like 25 or 25 pounds anyways? Wouldnt the extra 1-2 pounds be offset by the extra almost 3-4 inches in width? just something to think about.

As for quality i cannot make any personal claims as i have never owned any but i have alot of friends that run cheaper wheels like rota's and other brands on their drift cars, only time ive ever seen a rim crack or get demolished is as a result of an accident or hitting a curb....they dont just blow up spontaneously.

OP = Why dont you look into getting a used set of RPF1s? They are really cheap, good quality, and extremeley light...nevermind the fact that they look GREAT on a z! I cant vouch that they look good on any other car though haha

For reference, my full swiss, lightweight hardware, etc 18x12 CCW Classics are 23.8lbs a piece. 27 really isn't that bad for an 18x12....

ive had rpf1s before on my drift car and their excellent wheels but for my Z i want something deep dished like these Rotas. Plus I wouldnt wanna put such nice performance wheels on the Z like rpf1s lol. It would be a waste
