Ride doesn't feel right after wheel install :(
#26
I used a tire calculator to check the difference between my fronts and rear. I am running 245/40/19 and 295/30/19 front and rear. Thats what I had available at home and they are still pretty new, so im not getting new tires unless i have to. The calculator shows the fronts as having bigger specs on some areas, would that make a negative impact on ride quality/performance? I have 235/35/19 tires at home too...

Put the 235's on , yes it will change weight bias and caster setting with a taller front tire

Find a good shop. You will waste a lot of time and money if you don't.
Good shops that understand the "Z" are hard to find.
I would look for one that services high-end sports cars, and has a long and good reputation.
Do not go to Sears, Discount Tire, Firestone . . . . they are a joke.
(been there and done that)

Will a slightly taller tire really make that big of a negative impact on ride quality/performance though? Car feels sloppy/loose and i can't grip for $hit. I was taking a turn at 5-10mph(not joking), and i felt the car loose grip and cut power to the wheels. Slip light goes on, did this about 3 times now since the wheel/tire swap. Wasn't like this before I had "correctly" staggered tires on the car.

Jcat, I was planning on taking my car to americas tire(suprisingly really good reviews on yelp for a chain) and having them inspect my tire and wheels to see if they are bent. I then plan on getting my alignment/bushings/suspension looked at tomorrow where I got my alignment last month. If it hasn't been corrected by then, I will try to take it to a nissan shop...

Maybe my backstory will help solve the problem(its long/complicated so don't read if you don't care)
I was riding on my black chrome varrstoens 9.5/10.5+12 with 235/35/19 255/35/19 nitto invo tires.
Had an alignment after installing springs and everything rode fine.
I bought new wheels in 9.5/11 +0. Had these size tires lying around the house: 245/40/19 bridgestone potenza re50a(patched hole in one) and 295/30/19(michelin pilot sport, used and bought off a member on here)
Because the z is my dd, and space is limited, I could only put on two wheels/tires at time. I left the fronts alone 9.5/235/35/19, and installed the soon to be fronts on the rear 9.5/245/40/19. Car still rode perfectly fine.
Next day, I take off the fronts, and move the rears to the fronts. I then installed the new 11inch rears and put on 295/30/19 tires. I actuall bought the rear tires off a member on here, michelin pilot sport in decent condition/thread. Now the car feels like crap. That is my story. Ive taken off my spacers to see if that was causing the vibration, and re-balanced my wheels twice already. The car felt fine when I was running my old wheels, and still ran fine even after i installed the new wheels on the rear only. Since adding the 11 inch rears and used michelin tires, ride has been sloppy/losing grip/im kinda scared to drive my car due to how unstable it is. The 11inch wheels didn't look bent, but like I said above, thats just visual inspection.

at this point, im desperate and willing to try anything out. It honestly scares me to drive the car, and I need to pick up my sister from LAX tomorrow, not looking foward to that drive from irvine. I doubt the problem will go away, but planning on having them check it out after work today. They aren't going to dismount or mount tires, just having them look at the tires/wheels. They said they can detect bends without dismounting the tire. We'll see how it goes....
Btw, did they fix your wheels or offer to have them fixed?

Wheel turned out to be fine, just a ton of grime from the employee's gloves. They messed up my tires dismounting them off another set of 19s I had which caused the leak problem. Manager at FV AM Tires is clueless, argued with me that I couldn't fit new 225s onto my wife's 17x7 wheel.
Edit: In all fairness I used to have a pretty good relationship with the previous group of employees who knew the aftermarket scene. They replaced the manager and all the employees with a bunch of clueless newbs.

Well, first of all start with jacking the car and spinning the wheels, will take 10 minutes but it will make sure you don't have anything bent. I slight bend may not show, but it will give you piece of mind. Look for movement in both directions.
Next, tire stagger. When the front is equal to or taller than the rear it causes some odd problems. Your fronts are 3/4 inch taller than the rears. For a huge difference from how the car was designed to run. Typically you want the fronts 3/4 inch shorter than the rear.
On a nonstagger (square ) setup like a lot of use run on the track, the car gets twitchy, my car is (combined with my aggressive alignment) it becomes a handfull on the street.
Now your VDC, ABS, TCS issues. Your cars computer is flipping out, it expects the front tires to spin faster than the rears when driving down the road, and expecially in corners. It thinks you are losing traction all the time.

Terrasmak, if I knew what you looked like, I would hugg and kiss you the next time I go to vegas puahaha
Just went to americas tire during my lunch break and had them mount the 235's and the sloppy/unstable feeling it totally gone. no slip light, taking turns like a champ again!! I could NOT be happier right now. Thank you guys for all your help like always :]
