Default Professional wheel painting= OEM quality?

Hey everyone,

The detailing shop messed up on one of my wheels the other day. They used something that ate through the paint on my 06 OEM wheels. They offered to repair the wheels on their cost.

I wanted to get all four wheels painted a little darker than the OEM hyper silver finish. I was thinking somewhere in between the 06 OEM hyper silver and the gunmetal grand touring. What do you guys think?

I was curious if professional wheel repair shops can paint the rims to match the quality from the factory.. I know i've used duplicolor wheel paint on the wheels for my accord and it was not durable and it was dull.
Will the pro wheel shops paint job be as good as OEM? I'd appreciate if anyone with experience can chime in

Any good bodyshop can paint/clearcoat your wheels. I have a LeMans Sunset (gold/amber) 350Z with matching Work TS-37 wheels. It looks great, get lots of compliments. (Don't know how to put photos online,)

IMO powdercoating is the way to go on wheels. Much stronger than paint. I had both and paint is not bad due to the price, just be careful with rock chips, removal of lugs, curbs, and only use car wash soap, no chemicals
