geez people... I was just trying to promote a new brand that is trying something a little different in the replica game. Although the rivets are fake, I thought it was innovative that you can exchange them for a new look once you got bored after a few months lol.

Yes they are replicas, but for 98% of the population, they are good enough for our daily driving...

Wheels for people that don't know any better?

I change my rims every year. I lived and learned, after buying Work VSxx and Volk TE37's, if a rim gets messed up it costs me $800 to $1000 to replace ONE rim. Also the resale value of those name brand rims come at a huge loss (unless you keep em and get use out of em for years)

instead of coming out of pocket, I will just buy a whole new set for less than the price of one Volk Rim

It's not simply that they're crappy wheels, it's the fact that they're crappy wheels with fake rivets to make it look like a multi-piece wheel. It's the whole poser concept that people don't like, and rightfully so.

Just selling a crappy wheel to avoid sacrificing affordability is one thing. But if you do any of these things:

-design a wheel that is a blatant copy of another wheel
-add purely cosmetic features to mimic a functional feature (fake rivets)
-emboss things like "forged" in the wheel when it's chinese cast garbage

then it's nothing but poser nonsense and the company and the wheel in question deserves all the ridicule that it receives. They should be left on a shelf just on principle alone.

I will never understand how a real enthusiast would support this crap. Seriously, how does that conversation go when a stranger with genuine curiosity asks about wheels like these? I seriously have always wanted to know

"Hey man, nice wheels. Two piece? Three piece?"

"Nope, these here are some mighty fine one piece wheels"

"Oh...but the rivets...I assumed..."

"Oh these? Yeah these rivets are fake. They serve no structural purpose as they would on a true 2 piece wheel. But they come in a variety of cool colors though so I can change them often and bring plenty of attention to my poser rivets!"

PSCHTTTTTTT. THAT'S not at ALL how a conversation goes when people are curious about wheels. lol. I don't know who you've been having a convo with (probably people from this forum, E46 forums, and driver lol). THIS is how a conversation goes when people are curious about wheels.

Real wheel:
"Hey man. Nice wheels. They expensive?"

"Uhh...a bit. They're Works."

"Oh ok. What are those? Like eleven hunnit for a set or something?"

"hahah. Naw man. A bit more than that. Closer to a thousand a wheel."

"BRAH!!!? WHUUUUT. Ohhh snap. Baller status bro. Are those like made in Japan or something?"

"haha. Yeah. Yeah they are."

"Are you like a lawyer or something man?"

"Naw. I sell drugs to kids in the community."

"FOR REAL?"

"hahahhaha. No. But, for real, these are new. There's a lot of good deal on used wheels on-line. Forums and stuff. And they won't cost nearly as much, but you get a better quality wheel."

"Used. Oh. Ok. I'ont think I'd buy used wheels. My friend got some wheels for like 800 bux brand new."

"Well, I guess you get what you pay for."

"Yeah. It ain't like Ima track my car or nothing. That's just too much."

*Curious person readjust his knit cap so that it sits slightly askew off his head*

Fake wheels:

"Oh man. Nice wheels. They expensive?"

"Naw. I think it ran me about 900 bux with wheels and tires."

"Really. Oh man. You think they'd fit my car? I'm not gonna be slammed or nothing. I got some springs off of ebay the other day so I gotta find some new feet. I'm not gonna track it or nothing."

"Prolly. I gotta remember the website. What's your insta name? I'll tag you in the wheels."

"snarky-pussEP3. cOOL Brah. Thanks. These is tight yo."

*curious person pulls out iPhone and then take several unnecessary drags off of his vape cigarette.

THAT'S how wheel conversations go.

Jebuss people, who or why should anyone care what anyone else buys or uses???

If you think the "poseur wheels" are crap, fine, you ain't running them.

And likewise, people wanna spend their hard earned money on a set of $4000 wheels and suffer from the "lighter-and-more-difficult-to-pay-the-bills-pocketbook-with-only-marginal-performance-increase-but-damm-they-look-f'n-awesome-while-cruisin'-Santana-Row" syndrome, hey, WHAT. EVER.

Friendly, useful advice - in this case, about the low quality of some rep wheels - is always welcomed but this incessant flaming and diminishing of the signal-to-noise ratio because one doesn't agree with someone else's choice of wheels is just unadultered bovine feces.

Along those lines, people gotta stop concerning themselves with what other people think of their cars and do what's right by themselves because ultimately, no one really cares if you run Rays or copies - except the person running them.

And if someone is passing judgement on my or anyone else's car, well, that speaks to that person's own insecurities. Fehhhhhhh....

I waste a lot of free time here - something I worked hard to have - but this is just mind rot.

O-U-T....
