How is using spacers worse than an improper offset?

1) Take off your wheels
2) Take off your brake calipers (If you're careful, you don't have to remove your pads)
3) Take your rotor off
4) Hammer your old studs out
5) Pull the new studs in, if you have an air gun, it makes things faster. If not, just grab 3 or 4 washers, as thick as you can find, find an extra lugnut (open-ended works best), and you pull the new stud in by tightening the lug nut "spaced" with the washers in between the hub and lugnut. Torque wrench is recommended.
6) That's it, do everything in reverse: put rotor on, put caliper on...
Wheel/tire shops will generally charge $5/stud installation...~$50. May be worth it for some. Once you've done one side, you'll do the other side in 15 minutes. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out one side.

I have the 15mm H&R spacers installed and i love the looks of it.
The only concerns i have is that the total diameter of the spacers is about 8mm smaller then the diameter of my Rays (Track model).
I wonder if the spacers you guys use are the same as mine...
The spacers in Jason´s picture are with longer studs, while my spacers came with bolts to mount them to the car. And normal studs in them where you mount the wheel to with the original bolts!?!
I really don´t like it that the centre of the rim is not fully backed up by the spacer.
Opinions please.
Strife350Z: As i not living in the US, i got them here in Holland. For total amount of $ 300 (damn i wish i lived in the US).

Partno. on the box:
Front 9019697
Rear 9019698
Partno. on the spacer itself:
H&R3065662
Still find it strange that the outer diameter is smaller then the center piece of the RAYS.... Really don´t like that!

Also, it sounds like you have the DRM wheel spacers:
http://www.hrsprings.com/site/products/trak.html
They say they don't make these for 15mm applications, and it wouldn't seem possible because the thickness wouldn't be enough. So you are saying that the bolts from your hub, go through and mount to the plate, then your wheels mount to the spacer plate?
