Default 40/19 or even 45/19?

Would it be possible without rubbing to run the Volk SF Challenge with these specs:

19x8.5 21mm
19x9.5 23mm

With 245/40/19 275/40/19 or even 245/45/19 275/45/19

I would go 255/40 rear and 245/50 front. I run that on my wife's g35c, and it looks great, but you also have to lower the car, or it looks like its a 4x4. When lowered with eibachs, the wheel wells are filled nicely compared to the standard 245-275/35-19 combo.

Not sure of your offsets though. I'm running 8.5 +38 and have a 1" (26mm) spacer in the rear.

For a 19" wheel????

I do plan on lowering as well, so that's another concern of mine with a higher sidewall...

I would not run those particular sizes...I would, however, recommend a 255/35 in the front and 275/35 in the rear - anything taller than either of these and you will throw off the speedometer...these sizes still keep the stagger and the front is a little taller than the normal 245/35 everyone else runs...

So how come I should do 255/35 as compared to 245/35?

255 fits nicely on a 8.5" rim. you see the stock tires with 245 on a 8" rim, looks nice right? if you go .5" wider on the rim, no reason you cant go .45" wider on the tread.

anyway, I wouldnt run 40 or 45. 275/45/19 your adding like 2" to your rear tire diameter. besides throwing off your speedo, youll murder your acceleration effectivly altering your gearing. youll be able to go a little faster on the top end(if its not drag limited).

with our 255/40-19s, the speedo is off by only 3%. When it reads 60, I'm actually going 61.8mph. Which also means, when the odometer reads 60000, there will be actually 61800 miles on the car.

As an added benefit, we have a 39 month/39000 mile lease, we will actually be able to go to 40170 miles without indicating more than the allowed 39000, or and extra 1170 miles!
