cleaning volk gt-7's - need help!
ok, so i bought a used set of silver volk gt-7's.
they have, what it seems to be, water marks on the lip where it's polished.
what do you recommend i use to re-polish the lip? i want to get the water marks off. i tried just soap and water and then drying them....didn't work. do i need to take them somewhere to get re-polished?
let me know what options i have.
thanks guys!
also, where can i get the stickers for the wheels? one is ruined and i want to get a new one on there? and where do people get the stickers that they put on the side of the car that says what parts they have in the car....they never come with my parts! haha.

If its just on the lip you can try claying it the same way you would clay your paint. If the water stain comes out, apply a coat of wax/polish on it to protect it. Makes future cleanings real ez. I doubt you will need to get it repolished for a water spot.
Good luck!

a wheel polish probably won't work because I think there is a clear coat on the lip and everywhere else.

Make sure the wheel is cool and is in the shade, then try washing it with half and half water and vinegar mix. Wipe it off with a soft clean cloth.
If that doesn't work, you may need to use polish.

i got these used...and they already had water marks on them. i've tried to clean them the way i clean the car....no luck.
Hey I have the same problem you do, same rims, bought used as well. Everytime I tried cleaning the rims and then drying off the water driplets just seem to disperse and when I finally seem like I got all the drops, when I drive it the next day the water diserpese againand I get these dry water marks? Anybody else have any suggestion in drying clear coated rims.
i agree with judge....first make sure your lip is in fact clearcoated
if it is try these steps
1. clay
2. vinegar idea
3. power washer or compressed air
my wheels were REALLY BAD from the winter...what finally worked was some p21s wheel cleaner (the more serious kind)..i let the wheel cleaner sit for 2 hours then power washed everything off

Wheel polish works fine for the lip. I use Billet and Eagle One both work great. Mother's will do the trick as well. Looks as good as new. Polished lip wheels are high maintenance. Water marks happen every wash.
