hey folks,

i'm getting bad vibes from friends saying my car will look odd..

the rims are +35mm front and +38rears offset. F18x8 and R18x9 wrapped with 245/40 and 275/40 tires respectively.

will my wheels look "sunken in"? will the tires be too wide for the width of the rims such that i'll have too mcuh rubber sticking out of the rims?

 

the tires are the correct size for the wheels you list, you won't have any rubber sticking out wider than the width of the wheel...

as for the 35 front and 38 rear offset, that is not very aggressive and will be "sunken in" compared to the look of a car with something like 22 front and 25 rear offsets... are you buying SSR GT3??? I think that's the offset for those wheels... I've seen them on a Redline 350Z and I did not care for the look...

the Track model Rays wheels are 30 front and 33 rear offset, and I think they are too "sunken in" so you can imagine what the offset you mention will look like....

agreed...run spacers with those rims or it's gonna look odd.

 

is there an issue with handling when running spacers?

 

spacers will work... make sure you get a hubcentric spacer... the H&R spacer centers itself on the hub and your wheel centers onto the spacer... a 10mm spacer will move the wheels out enough to fill the gap nicely...

you will also need longer wheels studs, since with the spacers you are removing 10mm of the length of the bolt... I think Performance Nissan sells longer studs....

so, as long as you run a good, hub centric spacer and the correct length wheels studs, you should not have any handling issues... in fact, your car may handle a little better since the wheels are a little wider apart

i guess when the wheels come in, i'll fit them to see if theyre too sunken in for my tastes. i dont mind the way track rays wheels look...
