Default New BS Potenza Tires - RE-01R

Bridgestone just introduced some upgraded top end tires ...

Potentza RE-01R.... http://www.potenza.jp/index_sd.html

(click on the "RE-01R" on the lower part
of the page for an image)

There is no evaluation yet -- however, I will be very interested on how these new tires compare to the Michelin PS2`s ...

FYI -- they are available in 19 inch .. 245/35 and 275/35

Are they even going to be available in the US? Anyone care to translate the information given? What will the treadwear be?

Option 2 just reviewed these and they seemed to fair well against Advan Neovas, and Dunlops sticky stuff! unfortunately they probably won't be offered in the US

on a side note, I just mounted some Bridgestone RE050's (OEM on SL500 and Enzo) in the stock 245/45/18 rear size and these have much better grip and feel than the RE040. treadwear is a very low 140 but they have lasted almost 2 weeks now and have very progressive break away without giving up much feel. Can't complain for almost new take-offs for $50 for the pair

i dont think there is really a big difference between re01 and re01r.
i have driving re01, and its definitly a great street tire.
IMO better then PS2.
now, just need to wait for 8/2 track days to test out my neova AD07!!
and no, i dont think this kinds of tire(re01, ad07, or re01r)will be offered in N. America.
